I created this website to provide parents with helpful tips and strategies for promoting social-communication skills and language development in young children. Areas addressed include joint attention, turn-taking, play development, functional communication, auditory processing, and verbal skills. I highly encourage parents to use the information as a reference only and to seek out an evaluation and treatment services from a qualified speech-language pathologist. This resource contains strategies for facilitating communication compiled from various Early Intervention handouts written for parents. I recommend using these strategies with young children, preschoolers, and older children with communication disabilities.

AUGMENTATIVE & ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION
